Narcolepsy is the rarest form of sleeping disorder found in the patients. It is a a sleeping disorder that causes chronic and control less instances of day sleeping. Patients of narcolepsy often faces sudden onset of drowsiness and fall asleep within couple of minutes.
Even they can fall into the floor from standing or become limp and drop the things they were holding. Narcolepsy is mainly classified by the terms of chronic neurological disorder. Actually Narcolepsy is because the brains inability to distinguish between normal sleep cycles. The main cause behind this disease is still a mystery.
Though the sudden attack of control less sleepiness is quite prevalent in the patients but there are also 3 other distinctive symptoms that can appear. First one is cataplexy which is mostly referred as the abrupt muscle weakness and temporary paralysis that happens because of deficit of consciousness.
Hypnogogic and hypnopompic hallucinations are viewed as the second symptom which are basically the hallucinations experienced by the patient while sleeping or even in awakened condition. The third one is paralysis. Narcolepsy can turn someone’s life into a living nightmare if it reaches the extreme condition. The patients often tell about the clumsiness and fatigue they go through.
